เลือกหน้าจอประหยัดพลังงาน

สมัยก่อนเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์หนึ่งเครื่องส่วนที่กินไฟมากที่สุดคือจอมอนิเตอร์ แต่เดี๋ยวนี้จอมอนิเตอร์ไม่ได้เป็นอุปกรณ์กินไฟเหมือนแต่ก่อนอีกต่อไป
เพราะจอมอนิเตอร์แบบแอลซีดี (Liquid Crystal Display) กินไฟต่ำกว่าจอภาพแบบเก่าครึ่งต่อครึ่งในขนาดหน้าจอเท่ากัน แถมมีราคาถูกลงจนจอภาพแบบ CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) ล้มหายตายจากไปอย่างถาวร หากคุณยังคงใช้หน้าจอแบบเดิมอยู่ละก็เราขอแนะนำให้เปลี่ยนใหม่ทันทีเมื่อเสีย เพราะซื้อใหม่คงไม่คุ้มค่าซ่อมแซมดูแลอย่างแน่นอน และวันนี้เราจะมาดูวิธีการเลือกซื้อจอแอลซีดีให้ได้ของดี และประหยัดพลังงาน แบบเดินเลือกซื้อง่ายๆ ด้วยตัวคุณเองกันครับ

เลือกที่การใช้งาน

จะซื้ออะไรมาใช้งานก็แล้วแต่ ให้เราเลือกที่การใช้งานเป็นหลัก จอมอนิเตอร์ก็เช่นกัน ให้เลือกที่ขนาดหน้าจอใช้งาน สำหรับงานพิมพ์เอกสารขนาด 15-17 นิ้ว จะมีขนาดกำลังพอเหมาะสำหรับงานพิมพ์และใช้งานอินเทอร์เน็ตเป็นหลัก แต่หากคุณต้องการใช้งานประเภทมัลติมีเดียดูหนังฟังเพลง เล่นเกมเป็นหลัก หน้าจอขนาด 19-21 นิ้ว ดูจะเหมาะสมกับการใช้งานในระดับนี้ และยังนำไปใช้ในงานออกแบบเว็บไซต์และตกแต่งรูปภาพเล็กๆ น้อยๆ ได้อีกด้วย

สุดท้ายหากคุณทำงานด้านการตัดต่อวิดีโอ งานกราฟฟิก 3 มิติ ที่ต้องใช้พื้นที่หน้าจอสูง หรือทำงานหลายโปรแกรมพร้อมๆ กัน หน้าจอขนาด 21 นิ้วขึ้นไปจะตอบสนองการทำงานในระดับมืออาชีพได้ดีที่สุด อย่างไรก็ดี หน้าจอยิ่งมีขนาดใหญ่ยิ่งใช้พลังงานสูง ควรคำนึงตรงจุดนี้ไว้ด้วย

ความสว่างของหน้าจอ

พิกเซลแต่ละจุดบนจอแอลซีดีเป็นตัวสร้างสีต่างๆ จนกลายเป็นภาพภาพใหญ่ขึ้นมา แต่สิ่งที่ทำให้พิกเซลนั้นสว่างขึ้นมาได้คือหลอดไฟแบบ CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) ที่อยู่ด้านใดด้านหนึ่งของจอภาพส่องสว่างให้แอลซีดีมีภาพสว่างส่องชัดขึ้นมา และความสว่างของหน้าจอนี้เองคือสิ่งที่กำหนดการรับประทานไฟของจอภาพ คุณภาพและอายุการใช้งานระยะยาว

ในการเลือกหน้าจอแอลซีดีนั้นให้เราลองปรับความสว่าง ความคมชัดของภาพ ให้อยู่ในระดับกลางทุกอย่างแล้วมองแสง สีที่ได้เป็นอย่างไร จากนั้นให้ลองปรับเฉพาะค่าความสว่าง (Brightness) ลงต่ำสุดดูว่าจอนั้นมืดลงขนาดไหน หากมืดลงจนสามารถมองเห็นได้เพียงเค้าลางของภาพแต่ไม่มืดสนิท แสดงว่าหน้าจอตัวนี้มีระบบการจัดการพลังงานที่ดีเยี่ยม

ตรงนี้สำคัญมาก หลายคนโชคดีลองปรับเทสต์จอแอลซีดีของตัวเองแล้วพบว่าก็เป็นเหมือนๆ กันทุกเครื่อง แต่รู้หรือไม่ว่าหน้าจอบางรุ่นนั้น แม้ปรับแสงลงต่ำสุดก็ยังอยู่ในระดับสว่างมากอยู่ดี หรือปรับเพิ่มจากต่ำสุดเพียง 1 ระดับก็สว่างพอในเวลากลางวันแล้ว คุณอาจจะบอกว่า ก็ดีนี่ใช้ไฟเพียงเท่านี้ก็สว่างดี

ในระยะยาวแล้วหน้าจอแอลซีดีที่มีความสว่างมากเกินไป หรือปรับให้สว่างมากเกินไป มีผลทำให้อายุการใช้งานสั้นลง หน้าจอเหลือง หากใช้ในที่แสงน้อย หน้าจอที่สว่างเกินไปแม้ปรับลงต่ำสุด ทำให้ผู้ใช้รู้สึกแสบตาเวลาใช้งาน มีข่าวร้ายอีกอย่างก็คือ จอแอลซีดีรุ่นใหม่หลายๆ รุ่นที่เป็นหน้าจอคริสตัล (จอกระจก) และใช้หลอดไฟแบบใหม่ อย่าง LED (Light Emitting Diode) มักประสบปัญหานี้เสมอแต่ไม่ใช่ทุกรุ่น สุดท้ายจำไว้อย่างเดียวว่า ยิ่งสว่างมาก ยิ่งรับประทานไฟมากขึ้นตามลำดับ เวลาใช้งานควรปรับความสว่างให้เหมาะสมพอมองเห็นได้ชัดเจนเท่านั้น

เลือกสเปกที่เหมาะสม

สเปกของจอแอลซีดีนั้นไม่มีรายละเอียดอะไรมากนัก แต่ที่เราสามารถเลือกดูความละเอียดสูงสุดที่รองรับ ชนิดของหลอดไฟ กับหน้าจอแบบคริสตัลหรือธรรมดา กับค่าพลังงานที่ใช้กี่วัตต์

ในส่วนสเปกความละเอียดสูงสุดที่รองรับนั้น สำหรับผู้ใช้งานพิมพ์เอกสาร เล่นอินเทอร์เน็ตหรือเล่นเกมทั่วไปไม่จำเป็นต้องสนใจตรงจุดนี้มากนัก ดูให้เป็นแค่อยู่ในระดับมาตรฐานทั่วไปเหมือนๆ กันทุกยี่ห้อในขนาดหน้าจอเท่ากัน และใช้เพียงหน้าจอแบบธรรมดาไม่ใช่คริสตัลก็เพียงพอแล้ว

ถ้าเป็นเกมเมอร์ ผู้คลั่งไคล้ หรือนิยมชมภาพยนตร์จากแผ่นบลูเรย์ หน้าจอคริสตัลที่รองรับความละเอียดระดับ Full HD 1080p ดูเป็นทางเลือกที่เหมาะสมกว่า เพราะจอคริสตัลจะให้คอนทราสต์สูงกว่าจอปกติ

ตรวจเดดพิกเซล

เดดพิกเซล คือ จุดเสียบนหน้าจอแอลซีดี โดยปกติแล้วจอแอลซีดีที่ดีจะต้องไม่มีเดดพิกเซล แต่เดดพิกเซลอาจเกิดขึ้นได้ในกระบวนการผลิตจากโรงงาน ผู้ผลิตมักจะรับประกันเดดพิกเซลให้ในกรณีที่พบมากกว่า 4 จุดขึ้นไป ซึ่งเป็นจุดที่เล็กมากๆ บนหน้าจอ ให้เราลองเพ่งมองจอแอลซีดีใกล้ๆ จะพบว่าประกอบไปด้วยจุดเหลี่ยมเล็กๆ รวมกันหลายจุด 1 จุดเราเรียกว่า 1 พิกเซล

ทีนี้เราก็รู้แล้วว่าจุดพิกเซลหน้าตาอย่างไร เดดพิกเซลก็คือจุดเสียที่ไม่ยอมแสดงสีออกมาเหมือนจุดรอบข้างอื่นๆ ซึ่งจะเห็นชัดได้ตอนเครื่องแสดงสีดำกับขาว วิธีการทดสอบก็คือให้เราไล่เปิดภาพสีดำล้วนออกมา หรือใช้โปรแกรม LCD Bad Dot (ค้นหาได้จากกูเกิล) แล้วมองใกล้ๆ ไล่สายตาไปเรื่อยๆ จนทั่วทั้งจอ จนกว่าจะแน่ใจว่าไม่มีเดดพิกเซลแล้วค่อยซื้อ (หากร้านไม่ยอมเปิดให้ ตุกติกเรื่องมาก ให้คิดไว้ก่อนว่าร้านนี้ไม่ซื่ออย่างแน่นอน)

ใช้จอให้เป็น

หลังจากเราได้จอแอลซีดีมาแล้ว ในด้านการใช้งานก็สำคัญไม่แพ้กัน

1.ในการตั้งค่าสกรีนเซิร์ฟเวอร์ เราควรเลือกโหมดพักหน้าจอเมื่อไม่ใช้งาน มากกว่าการแสดงผลเพื่อรักษาพิกเซล เพราะการแสดงผลสกรีนเซิร์ฟเวอร์ซีพียูต้องทำงานเพื่อการแสดงผลหน้าจออยู่ ในขณะที่การพักหน้าจอเมื่อไม่ใช้งานไปเลยนั้น เป็นการหยุดการทำงานทุกส่วนของเครื่องคอมพิวเตอร์จนกว่าคุณจะกลับมาใหม่

2.ปรับระดับแสงให้เหมาะสมกับการทำงาน ปรับความสว่างแค่พอมองเห็นได้ชัดเท่านั้น ไม่ควรปรับให้สว่างมากเกินไป หากอยู่ในที่ที่มีแสงสะท้อนมาก ไม่ควรเพิ่มความสว่างบนหน้าจอเพื่อสู้แสงรอบข้าง ลองปรับมุมก้มเงย หันซ้ายขวาของจอเลี่ยงแสงสะท้อน แทนการเพิ่มค่าความสว่างของจอและการปิดหน้าต่างลดแสงสะท้อน ซึ่งทำให้เราต้องเปิดไฟในห้องเพิ่มขึ้นเป็นการสิ้นเปลืองพลังงานสองต่อ

3.วางหน้าจอในที่อากาศถ่ายเท ไม่ควรวางจอไว้ชิดผนังมากเกินไป อยู่ในมุมอับหรือมีกองเอกสารขวางการไหลเวียนอากาศรอบข้าง ความร้อนสะสมเป็นสาเหตุของการเสื่อมสภาพในอุปกรณ์อิเล็กทรอนิกส์ทุกอย่าง

ไม่ยากเลยใช่ไหมครับ ที่สำคัญอย่าลืมหาต้นไม้กระถางเล็กๆ วางไว้บนโต๊ะทำงาน และพักสายตาทุกชั่วโมงหากทำได้ เพียงเท่านี้ทั้งสุขภาพสายตาและจอมอนิเตอร์ก็จะสว่างสดใสใช้พลังงานต่ำคู่กับคุณไปอีกนานนับสิบปี
