แหวนแทนใจ - หนู มิเตอร์ "แหวนแต่งงาน" ที่ฉายภาพคู่รักออกมาได้ เช้าๆ อย่างนี้มาอ่านข่าวที่ให้ความรู้สึกโรแมนติกกันบ้างดีกว่า Luke Jerram ศิลปินจาก Bristol ได้ออกแบบแหวนแต่งงานที่ไม่ซ้ำกับของใครในโลก โดยเขาได้ไอเดียมาจาก Stanhope (Stanho+scopes) เครื่องประดับสมัยศตวรรษที่ 19 ซึ่งมาพร้อมกับเลนส์สามารถใช้ส่องมองภาพขนาดเล็กจิ๋ว (microphotograph) ได้โดยไม่ต้องใช้กล้องจุลทรรศน์ แต่แหวนของ Jerram สามารถฉายภาพเขากับ Shelina Nanji แฟนสาวออกมาให้ดูได้...ว้าว!!! Projector Wedding Ring หรือแหวนแต่งงาน"โปรเจ็กเตอร์" ของ Luke Jerram มีการออกแบบที่ฉลาดมาก โดยภายในตัวแหวนจะติดตั้งสไลด์เข้าไป 2 รูป ซึ่งตำแหน่งของสไลด์จะตรงกับหัวแหวนที่มีลักษณะเป็นเลนส์ขยาย เมื่อเวลาที่อยู่ในห้องมืด สามารถถอดแหวนออกมา แล้วใช้แสงจากเทียน หรือ LED ส่องผ่านด้านหลังของแหวนตรงตำแหน่งของสไลด์ ให้แสงลอดผ่านไปยังเลนส์ที่บริเวณหัวแหวน เพื่อฉายภาพขนาดใหญ่ให้ปรากฎขึ้นมาบนฉากได้...ว้าว!!! หลังจากที่มีคนเห็นแหวนของ Jerram เขาถูกว่าจ้างให้ช่วยทำแหวนแต่งงานแบบนี้แทบทุกสัปดาห์ ซึ่งเขาตอบกลับไปว่า "ยินดีด้วยกับการมั่นของคุณ แต่แหวนวงนี้จะมีแค่วงเดียวที่ผมทำให้กับภรรยาของผมเท่านั้น ผมว่ามันจะดีกว่าถ้าคุณจะต้องทำมันขึ้นมาด้วยตัวคุณเอง เพื่อมอบให้กับคู่รักของคุณ" แหม...ปฏิเสธซะเลี่ยนเลย แต่จะว่าไป ถ้าเปลี่ยนจากสไลด์เป็นจอ LCD ขนาดเล็ก แล้วสามารถอัพเดตไฟล์ภาพนิ่ง หรือวิดีโอผ่านทางบลูทูธได้ สงสัยจะยิ่งผลิตกันไม่ทันเลยนะเนี่ย :P Portrait Projecting Ring Working with local jeweller Tamrakar, this ring was created for the wedding of Luke Jerram and Shelina Nanji. In a darkened room, light from a candle or LED passes through the ring to project a series of portraits. A selection of miniature slides were made of different family portraits and inserted into the edge of the ring for projection. As Jerram's family grows, photos of his children can be added to the ring. The ring was inspired by 19th Century Standhopes. Message from Luke Jerram, who gets asked each week to make more rings for other peoples weddings! "Congratulations on your engagement! I'm afraid this ring was a one off, made for my wife. I'm afraid you'll have to make your own unique ring for your own unique partner!" He continues...."The ring was my first prototype and was made by hacking apart disposal cameras to find the right lens I needed. Sadly, after we got married, in the middle of the night our house was broken into. As well as stealing my car, jacket, DVD player, even my glasses, the thief came into my bedroom and stole my wife's jewellery box (whilst we were sleeping there!) So the ring has gone! We found the empty jewellery box chucked in a bin down the road. The good news is, this gives me an excuse to make another ring! And in the mean time, my wife's very happy wearing the 'Talking Ring' I made for our engagement. This ring has my proposal etched on it and can be played back with a miniature record player I made.
